Do you put the dowels after each tier? Or after you have a 4 inch high cake tier?

Reason I ask is that my tiers are small in height...2 inches high of cake..then i will add the BC to it...but a thin layer...

So should I add dowels after 2 tiers have been placed or after each tier..considering my tiers are only 2 inches and 4 like they typically are?

You should always do dowels or supports in each tier, (except in the top tier) regardless of the size.

Are you talking about tiers or layers? Are you putting cardboard or some type of support under each tier?
