Since you have access to the internet you could buy these items online. I use hi ratio shortening (not Crisco) for my buttercream and I very rarely use corn syrup. So make a list of the items you need and buy them on the internet. I don't really know any substitutes.

What are you using the Crisco and corn syrup for?

Crisco is just vegetable shortening which is solid at room temperature. If you don't have a local brand, you should be able to substitute butter, coconut oil, or Palm oil, depending on what you need it for.

As far as a substitute for corn syrup, you should be able to use honey or light molasses, though it will affect the taste and sweetness of whatever you're making.

Do a search:
* corn syrup is a glucose syrup - it replaceable with your local glucose syrup or liquid glucose
* shortening brands in SA - Vegcap, Planto, Mastercraft White, Hilite, and Ekko
