i have a cake that is due today. i have been up all night baking the cake and making buttercream transfers to go on the cake. i put the bct on the cake, rubbed over them with my brush, and pulled the parchment paper off in the same order that i laid them down. they look nothing like the image. i would post a picture but my camera was stolen. it is as if the icing melted. was my icing that i made the bct with too soft? should i have made them using candy melts? if so, will they be able to cut through them?

pllllllleaseeee help me. i'm suppose to be at my regular job in 2 hours but i have to get this cake finished first.

Did you freeze it first? Or are you talking about when it has defrosted?

While it is defrosting it looks kind of 'wet' But it will dry off eventually. Is your image still intact?

YOu can do a chocolate transfer. but sounds like you are almost out of time!

I hope it works out!

i froze them. it was a total of 6 small bct and i did 2 at a time. putting them in the freezer immediately after i finished. the customer wants dora, tweety, and the disney princesses but she only wants pink, green, purple, and yellow used on the cake. so i decided to just trace the lines in the colors she wanted and fill the rest of it in with white (on top of a white cake). you could actually tell which characters were which when i first took them out the freezer but after i laid them on the cake it was as it they melted. now you can't make out what some of the characters are.

hmmm I dont know. Someone else showed me a pic of a FBCT that did something similar to what you are describing. It was like the insides of the transfer seeped over the outlines. i gave here squirrellycakes recipe for the perfect consistency for FBCT's and she wrote back and said that it worked. So maybe you consistency was not right.

i re-made the bct and they turned out great. she just picked up the cake and was really surprised. now i'm going to get some sleep. didn't make it to work today. i'm trying to start my own cake decorating business so there was no way i was letting that cake leave here looking like it did this morning. wish i had a camera but she is supposed to take a picture and give it to me. when she does i will post.

thanks merissa.....good night all.
