My gum paste is cracking and a bit too dry. While I was making a gum paste bow, I had to continuously reheat the gumpaste in the microwave to get the desired consistency - the gum paste was constantly drying.

Upon making the bow, some of individual bows had some streaks of cracks. The recipe consisted of icing sugar, hot water and gelatin.

Any tips/suggestions will be useful. I have tried to locate a good gum paste recipe without much success. Could someone send me a successful gum paste recipe without tylose powder (hard to get in my area) as well as flower paste recipe? Much appreciated!!!
