People Mould Or Aine2 Tutorials?

I am looking into trying to start making some figures of people and was wondering where would be the best place to start.
Polymer clay book, cake book, or Aine2 tutorial? (I can't seem to find any videos or tutorials that are free that show how to make peopl with and without the moulds).
What is better? Using a mould or doing all by hand?
