Can You Freeze Cake Ball Mixture Before Dipping?

I am making a few cake balls for a tasting and will have quite a bit left over.

Can you mix your crumbs and other wet ingredients together and freeze the mixture prior to dipping? If so, how long is it good for?

I always freeze the balls before dipping-makes them easier to handle-, but I usually dip them all. I would think that if you wrapped them well they would keep several weeks.
