"orange Supreme" Cake Using The Extender Method!
Baking By cdgleason Updated 23 Sep 2010 , 10:29pm by playingwithsugar
I just tried the Duncan Hines "orange supreme" cake mix for the first time... but, instead of using the directions on the box, I decided to try the standard method that's used for the WASC cake recipe with flour, sugar, sour cream etc...
The results were wonderful!! And, super simple!!
Here is what I did:
1 cake mix ( Duncan Hines, Orange Supreme)
1 1/3 cups of water... with *ONE ENVELOPE OF ORANGE KOOL-AID MIX*
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup sour cream
2 tsp vanilla extract (didn't use almond extract in this recipe)
2 T vegetable oil
pinch of salt
3 whole eggs
Bake as you would using the WASC recipe/method!
I'm going to fill the layers with a vanilla mousse!!
ENJOY!!!
I bet it would be da bomb with some dark chocolate chips scattered through it, too.
Thanks for sharing!
