Peanut Butter Flavoring

Has anyone used peanut butter flavoring in cake or icing ? If so, did it REALLY have a peanut butter flavor, or was it pretty weak ? I want to make a PB and J cake for a little girl, but I don't want to use real peanut butter in case someone has an allergy..... Thanks for any help....

I purchased some peanut butter flavoring a couple of years ago and thought it was dreadful! Instead of adding a peanut butter flavor it reminded me of burnt toast crumbs.

Yeah, I think on King Arthur Flour's website they have ratings and reviews of their products. They sell Lorann PB flavor and if I remember somebody really did not like it. Perhaps make some different flavored cupcakes?
