First off I am from a small town.

I get a call from a Grocery Store Bakery asking if I could make two tiers worth of cake for them because they did not order the cake they needed to complete a wedding cake that was due today!!

I guess what bothers me is that, homemade cake and bakery cake have different textures!! Boy, are the bride and groom in for a surprise.

Just had to see if this has happened with anyone else.

The coupe would be so suprised alright....of why it tastes so good! That is really crazy. What were they wanting to pay for the cake?

I don't completely understand. Did they just want you to bake, or bake, frost and decorate?

What flavors did you bake for them?

all I had to do was bake the 4 layers of cake and take it to them, then they iced and decorated it themselves.

it was just vanilla cake

I think that's awesome, if you got paid $89 for baking four layers.

(What I don't understand, is why it costs them $89 to purchase those layers... the cost for wholesale white cake layers ranges between $1.16 - $1.33 each for 6" and $2.63 - $3.21 each for 10". I guess this supermarket doesn't realize the options available to them for less than $10. I hope you get to bake for them a lot more in the future!)

I don't understand why they have to pay so much either!
