I was watching Fabulous wWdding Cakes on WE last night. Chirs Garren made this 4-5 teired tiffany and black cake to feed 250. The CakeGirls made a 5 teired cake with stencling and cut out fondant and hand piping. I wonder how much those cakes cost. All the fancy ones that Duff makes. They have to be in the 1000's. Shoot my daughters wedding caek was 4 tears piped for 150 and it was 350.00. I live in Ca so I know it is more expensive. Any ideas on those fancy special order cakes?
Wow!!! I figured that much. Kind of a lot just to eat it!!! 
There was a cake show on recently (sorry can't remember the name) - only aired 3 times but the best part was that they showed what the cake cost! There wasn't one cake under $1000.00 most were in the $1500 and up range. It was great because the showed technique.

yeah, I'd bet the average for something like that is more like $12 to $15 per slice. Making a 250 slice cake cost somewhere between $3000 and $4000!

Did you see the one for Terry Fater (the ventriloquist who won America's got Talent a couple years back)? His cake cost $15,000! Yes, that's 3 zeros!
I read an article once (online, but can't remember where) that said The Cake Boss' cakes can cost up to $40,000!!
I love how on Platinum Weddings (aires on WE) they tell you the price of everything INCLUDING the cake...its crazy though when you see that the
4-10 grand they just spent on a cake, is chump change to them because the total wedding cost is close to a million $$$
