ok, over the summer I got an email from some gals that run a basket business and they do passion parties, I got the email on Thursday, telling me that they wanted to talk to me about the icing on a cake they want to order.

Ok, It was late at night, tired as I was I ended up sending them the wrong phone number...I never got another call or email from them, soooo
when this woman comes on Saturday to pick up her "cake" I was like...whaaaaaaaaa?

to make a long story short, I made her her cake in under 2 hours, while she spent the 2 hours calling me and telling me how to run my business! I finally told her that if she kept calling me that I was taking time away from finishing the cakes.

Then she wants me to deliver the cake but please do not put my name anyplace on the cake or box. I was going to deliver the cake...(well my driver was) she was supposed to call me back with the address of the "club" ( she assumed that I KNEW where this place was..duh!)

I waited 15 minutes for her call...so..I sent the driver out with another deliver, close by..I figured she would call soon..and when she finally calls asking me where is her cake...she starts to yell at me..I'm like..."You need to calm down and since you didn't call me back in the 5 mins with the address I had to send the the other delivery out.

She then decides to come to the shop to pick up her cake..I'm like fine.

I get another call from her and she's asking me to bring up her cake so she doesn't have to get out of her car! icon_mad.gif . I had someone it the store, so I give him the cake, tell him to hand her the darn thing, and tell her to keep her money.

I was like, I"M NEVER GOING TO MAKE CAKE FOR THIS COMPANY AGAIN!

that was in Aug.

So......today...I get a call on my private cell phone..( the one they didn't have??? lol) and the other woman, not the crazy one ...this is our conversation..

Hi Mara, this is SO AND SO from NAME OF COMPANY...my response was, Hello...

I have a girl coming in for her bacherlorette party and I need a cake...my response..oh?

Yes, the lady that I ordered the cake from can't make it and I'd like to know if you could have one ready for me today....my response....Noooo

SILENCE....then

You mean to tell me that you can't make a cake for me today?...my respons............NOPE!!

SILENCE.......Ok, well....!?!?....my response was....OK, then BUH BY! icon_razz.gif

How dare this woman, to totally disrespect me this way? I mean...I do NOT care that I havn't heard from them for 5 months, if she would've started the phone call with..."Hi, listen I'm sorry that you haven't heard from us in a while and I'm sorry for the last interaction we had..but I'm in a bind and....( you know...acknowledge the rudeness)

I WOULD've done the cake...but I just cannot abide rudeness and people that feel entittled!

I mean, I was selling them my cakes at a discount and for them to turn around and sell them to their customers!! WOW!

and I wonder WHO is this person that was making cakes for them for the past 5 months and what happened that they flaked out today?

Maybe the CRAZY partner yelled at that baker also! lol

Good for you Mara! I wouldn't have done it either. What is it with some people??? Maye they should try being nicer to people and they wouldn't be in such a bind.

I know how frustrated you must be! I had a customer take credit for baking cookies that she bought from me!!!! She got busted out about it at the very function where it happened, but it's still frustrating!

You did the right thing!!! thumbs_up.gif

I remember that Derby..that WAS outrageous! I wonder if they fired up their little priviledge ovens and made the cake they needed themselves? or are they complaining about the "HELP"?

lol

lol....I wonder what the bride-to-be is thinking! Did she even get a cake? Maybe it's from the supermarket. I wonder why those idiots waited until today to call you. Hmmm. I'm glad that you said no!

Well, you saw who they called when they were in a pinch... you!
That is redemption in itself and good for you for telling them to pound sand. Businesses that operate that way will ultimately lose all of their vendor contacts and will be humbled one day when they can't get anyone to work with them.

Good for you!

(oh and I wanna shirt too! Mine should say No Food or Cake for you! hehe, love it!)
