How to make tree stump cake? I would like to cover with chocolate fondant . I know how to do all the decotations, but I need help with the base. What to use for all the bumps and how to get lines on the fondant?

I did a tree stunmp cake in buttercream. Id be happy to email you a picture...

As for the fondant part, I would make ropes of faondant, and lay them next to the cake, then cover the entire thing in 1 shot, nad mold thefondant over the ropes. I hope Im making myself clear... As for the texture, I'd use a fork...very carefully.

I recently did my first attempt at a stump. I just didn't lay the fondant flat against the cake. I used all the wrinkle and excess to make the roots and such. Then just scored lines in it with my gumpaste tools. It can certainly be built upon with better skill but for a beginner's first try I was happy. I tried to post a pic but it isn't working.
