Fondant Vs Buttercream In Florida Heat

I have to do a wedding cake for an outdoor beach wedding. Which would be better in the heat fondant or buttercream? I keep reading mixed answers. The cake will be outside the entire time and not in a/c . TIA

I live in venezuela, where it's hot all year round. I allways cover my cakes with fondant with buttercream filling, it keeps the cake safe from the ouside temp.
Never had a problem this way
