Has anyone seen any really unique or cool ideas for decorating the cake table at a wedding? I am looking for some "different" ideas to use for an upcoming bridal show. Everyone's seen the tulle and scattered flower petals... I want something different, but still elegant. I'm thinking of having a few different small round tables set up with a dummy cake on them, but fully decorated like you'd see at an actual reception. If anyone has any pictures to share, it would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Angie
I go to Amy Atlas blog every day. Besides the amazing tables she styles, she gets submissions from stylists and people's real parties from all over the world.
It's not only wedding related, but you might find something here. One is her blog, the other her website. Very beautiful stuff and ideas.

Hope that helps.
Here are just a few ideas for you - that i have done for different functions.
What about mirrors with different size candles on them?
Very Talllllll straight sided glass vases filled with water beads or crumpled tissue paper matching the colours on the cake or the heads of silk flowers.
An assortment of different shaped glass vases filled with coloured glass beads...keeping to the colour theme of the cake.

You're welcome raquel1. I love "tablescapes." lol
There's another blog I read everyday, and she might have some wedding-related stuff, but I don't remember right now.

Also, if you go to flickr and search for tablescapes, you'll get a lot to choose from:

My best friend had a gorgeous cake table at her wedding earlier this year. She had a 3-tier whtie square cake with teal and green ribbons, sitting on a square mirror. Super simple. Her table was covered in a white cloth, and every square inch of the table had small, shallow votives filled with beads to match the cake, and plain clear tea lights. It was so simple, and so pretty. ![]()
And if you keep on going to the links of the bloggers you'll get a million more...But it gets overwhelming sometimes to follow them all.
TomKat Studio has her "favorite party girls" on the left side of her blog, and I'm still going through those!
