Barber Shop Cupcakes?

My fiance is beginning barber school in October, and his birthday is in September and I am wanting to do something with the barbershop theme, and he loves cupcakes! Any ideas?

How about little barber shop poles made out of fondant (3D coming out of the top of the cupcakes or 2D laying flat on the cupcakes)? Or you could just use the colors and do swirly barber shop pole stripes on the cupcakes.

i like the 3D barber poles, i haven't worked much with fondant, but i think i will give it a shot! thank you! : D
