Today I was making a transfer piece for my DD's b-day cake. In the middle of making it, she informed me that she wasn't feeling well. The party that would've been tonight, will now (hopefully) be on Sunday afternoon.

How long can I freeze the piece? I've read that longer than 24 hr and the colors could run? Should I just throw it and start fresh on Sunday?

This is my first piece so any tips are much appreciated - thanks.

I thought I had read where they keep for quite some time in the freezer as long as you have them in a tightly sealed freezer bag. I had one that was in there a week and used it and it was fine, it did run a bit the day after we first cut into it but initially it looked great.
