I am planning on making a buttercream sheet cake for labor day weekend. I am also trying to figure out a way to work it around a little vacation with the family. So my question is will a basic buttercream frosted sheet cake still be fresh and tasty if i complete it a full 24+ hours ahead? I usually work with fondant so i appreciate any tips!
OMG yes! BC gets better the more in advanced you make it. The sugar from the icing infuses the cake. I do 2 days in advance...no refrigeration. Just place in a box and go have fun on vacation+ have your cake and eat it to! ENJOY!
