How Do I Mix Crystal Colors Into Fondant

Sorry if this is a simple question. i have seached through the forums and looked on the sugar paste website but no directions.

If colouring fondant, do i mix in a food processer, sprincle it on, or dissolve in alcohol first? icon_confused.gif

Help appriciated.

is it gel color?

you use a toothpick and mix a little bit of color into a small portion of the fondant, knead the color in with your hands and then add more white fondant and more color as needed. It will darken up a bit when it sets.

Well, I know you don't do it in a food processor, if that helps? Sorry, I don't use powdered colors! I'm sure someone who does will help shortly! Welcome to CC!

You knead it into the fondant, assuming it's pre-made fondant. If you're making your own fondant, you could add it during the process.

You can try it on a small amount first.

if it is premade fondant, mix the color with a little corn syrup (very little) then mix into the fondant just like gel coloring.

If you are making the fondant, color can be mixed in with the powdered sugar then make the fondant.
