Help Please!!

Ok, so last night I made a fondant lady lub for my neice's first birthday cake this weekend. I was unhappy with how dull it looked, so I took some advice I found and used a clothes steamer to try and make it shiny... DISASTOR!!! Half the ladybug is now sticky and the colors are runny. Is there any way to fix this?!?!?

I don't know of anyway, but I do know when moisture hits fondant it will get shiny and it sounds as if it got too much steam. That why its sticky and runny. When I want a little shine I use shortening.
