Help Please With Rice Krispy Shaped Bass Fish

My friends is throwing a birthday party for her grandfather this weekend and she asked me to help her make the cake. I'm going to attempt to make a bass fish out of rice krispy treats to put ontop of the cake. I have seen many in the gallery and would appreciate any advice in the shaping and coloring because I have never painted fondant or shaped crispy treats before.
I bought some rice krispy treats already packaged and just kinda smushed them together until i got the basic shape of a fish and covered it in MMF. I cut the fins and tail out of the MMF then used the end of a paintbrush to imprint the scales, mouth and gills. Mixed some brown, green and yellow gel food coloring with pure vanilla and just started painting. It took forever to dry lol i hope that helps. hopefully next time i try it it will turn out better but as they say "Practice Makes Perfect" and i can use all the practice i can get
