I use the WASC variation for strawberry cake. You can cut in half, if needed.
2 boxes strawberry cake mix or white cake mix
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1 small box strawberry gelatin (J-E-L-L-O)
1 1/2 tsp salt
6 whole eggs
16 oz sour cream
puree'd frozen strawberries + water to equal 2 2/3 cups
a few drops LorAnn strawberry oil
Mix all the dry ingredients together. Add the wet and beat
I top with a cream cheese buttercream
This is the one I use, it is fantastic! It makes a lot of batter, is from scratch, and does not use jello-if any of that matters to you. I think it tastes fantastic and is very moist, I am sure that matters! Enjoy

This is the best strawberry cake I have EVER had! It's called Simply Delicious Strawberry Cake by Paula Deen. You can find it on her website at: http://www.pauladeen.com/index.php/recipes/view2/simply_delicious_strawberry_cake/ Soooooooooo Good. It calls for frozen strawberries but I used 1 pound of fresh strawberries in the cake instead. There is also an icing recipe that goes with it.
