Have been asked to make a ferrari 3d cake, this I have no problem with, but would like some ideas on how to raise the car so its not sitting flat on the board, I have seen picture of car cakes with spaces underneath and they look so neat. Anyone got any ideas how they do this.

You can use a foil-covered block of foam (or whatever) underneath the car body, and just inset enough from the outside edges of the cake that it's not obvious.
Or you can use a cardboard cake support the same size as the body, with "legs" made from dowels hidden in or behind the wheels.
