Confused About The Various Wasc Recipes Out There

So I printed two recipes that are almost identical. The most popular one from this site:
http://cakecentral.com/recipes/2322/white-almond-sour-cream-cake-wasc
and then this one from Recipezaar which is the EXACT same recipe except for the fact it calls for one box instead of two boxes of cake mix. How is that possible? How can an entire box not make a difference in the recipe?

If you look, in the recipe that calls for one box, next to one box it says 36oz. That would be the same as 2 regular boxes which are 18.25oz each.
BTW I use this recipe ALL the time with RAVE reviews!!
