I love this thread. I too have recently taken on the airbrush....and well let's just say it is a learning experience. I can cover a cake with one color fairly well, and highlight some ares decent, but am oh so scared to try a straight line or actually paint a picture!! My kids know when the airbrush comes out it is time to hide in their bedrooms!!!

HI Thatslifeca, first off Vodka is a MUST, a couple of shots and anything you paint looks GOOOOOD !!!!!!!!!

I was a a small county fair one day during the middle of the the week and there were not many people around so I approched the young man who does airbrush work on t-shitrs and explained that wife makes cakes and that I had bought her an airbrush for decorating and we were having a hard time with it.

He laughed and said it's easy and in about 15 minuets he had me painting straight lines, shading and blending.AND never mentioned me paying for the lesson ! Trust me, next day he had a great ,airbrushed cake .

Thatslife - where in Canada are you? I am near Toronto, I took an airbrush class at Flour Confections in Pickering ON. Made a huge difference for me! Great class with lots of great tips! I highly recommend it if you are close by, before you send another airbrush to cake heaven.

Hi Kaat, I'm actually about 1hr west from you. Yes I know about the classes, I thought "who needs a class, it's just an airbrush icon_redface.gif . I'm wondering if Karla Johnson who is close by might teach airbrushing, who knows. I'll have to look into it I guess.

Klara's had an airbrush "demo" class not that long ago. Maybe they'll have another. Otherwise I'd say it's worth the drive to Pickering!

Hey Kaat, just a quick question? Have you ever taken any of the classes at Golda's Kitchen? and are they worth taking?

I haven't. I've taken some demo classes at Creative Cutters and regular classes at FC, but that's about it. I have been to Golda's when the ICES day of sharing was there. It's a nice place. Have you been on the Cakes Canada forums? There is probably someone there who has been to Golda's classes.
