I'm looking for a buttercream recipe that is simple and tasty to dirty ice my cakes, or just ice them. Does anyone have a great/simple recipe.
Indydebi's recipe is great. If you go to recipes it's in the "most saved". If you do decide to make I find that beating the daylights out of the Crisco before adding the other ingredients makes it creamier and in my opinion better. I beat my Crisco for 15 minutes Before I start adding the other ingredients and then 20 more after all of the SIFTED powdered sugar has been added. It is really easy to smooth with a viva paper towel and it is a crusting buttercream and it crust very fast as well.
