Impression Mat Vs Comb

Going to be doing a square wedding cake with combed sides next month. I have only tried using the comb once and do need to practice more but I just saw a line impression mat on SugarShack's website http://sugaredproductions.wsiefusion.net/_product_85696/Line_Impression_Mat wondering if that is an easier way to go?

I'd appreciate any comments on both products.

It depends on if you're doing a fondant or buttercream wedding cake.

The comb is super easy to use on buttercream, but you'd need the mat for fondant.

Sorry, I'm doing BC. I thought maybe the mat would still be easier to use on crusted BC instead of trying to comb the fresh BC.

Your BC must be very cold and hard...and square would be a good surface to work on. An even pressure is essential. The nice thing is that with BC you can always start over!
