I have to make two cakes this weekend for my son and a friend's son. They are coming to visit on Thursday-Sun. We are meeting them at the Dells at a resort on Thurs. and we'll all drive back home together on Saturday.
Here is the dilemma. I only have Wed. to make the cakes because we'll be gone through Sat. We will be eating the cakes on Saturday. How can I make and decorate the cakes and store them 'til Saturday? Will they still be fresh? Or should I just go buy and pick up a cake on Saturday? Would cake boxes work?
It's a long shot, but I thought I'd ask. : )
Many people bake on Wed for a Saturday wedding, so you really wouldn't have to do anything special to it.
You could freeze the decorated cake but would then have to let it thaw before eating it.
