Kid's name is on the front in fondant letters. FBCT on top. I can't put a border around the top because I didn't center the image, so the balloon is touching the edge. But the top definitely needs something. I'm afraid more spots would be overkill, but I'm also afraid to just jump in because I don't want it to be too much, ya know?

that is so cute!! How about having it so that their are a few spots that hang over the side,,you know look half on top the cake and the rest of the spot is on the side.. just enough black on top to carry over the theme.

That's a great idea, but I'm not sure if I can pull that off. I used #12 and smudged with my finger, so I don't know if I would be neat enough to do that.

your spots look good on the cake.. I think you could do it.. and also. have you ever seen Perfectly round spots on puppies? LOL icon_lol.gif

What do you think if I added a red border and had it kind of overlap with the balloon? The balloon is currently touching the edge/border, and there is a border of white stars because of the fbct. But if did a red border around the cake and just put a red border on the top edge of that balloon as well. Or no? Idk. It's too freakin' late, but I have to leave the house at 9am to deliver.

a tiny red border around the edge would look nice too..it would carry over the design from the side and pick up the ballon and puppy collars. makes sure to use a small tip.. so as not to overwhelm. thumbs_up.gif

18 would work.. a 14 or 16 would be better.

I don't think I have a 14 or 16. I think 18 is my smallest star. #5 is pretty small, but I don't think there's much I can do with it. I've gone to bed, so I think I'll add a border in the am. How would you do paw prints? I don't have any cutters for shapes or anything icon_sad.gif

I agree with Tesso ( of course, why wouldnt I... LOL) I like the carryover spots/dots/stripes when they are put on a cake.

The cake is so darn cute though!! great job! icon_smile.gif

Whaddaya know, I do have a 14 and a 16 after all. I ended up doing a #14 star border in red. Thank you so much for your comments, guys.
