Okay, I want to make a cake with the same concept of the cake on the cover of the wedding issue of Cakecentral Magazine. Obviously I don't have the skills to do THAT cake, but I want to do a stacked cake with the gumpaste flowers between each tier. How do I do that? Are there styrofoam separartors between the tiers? I just don't know how to do it properly. I hope my question has come across clearly. Any help would be great. Thanks!
You guessed right...there is a dummy seperator between the tiers in which to stick the wired gumpaste flowers. This can be a food grade dummy or you can use something like oasis as long as you cover it with a food grade wrap to protect your cake. Remember to dowel the dummy just like a real cake since you will be stacking more cake on top!
