I bought this set off ebay. Turns out the pillars were missing and the seller thought they were in there but they are not. I bought this set to make an anniversary cake for my sister. I don't have a clue what to use for pillars. I emailed Wilton and as I suspected, they didn't have anything that would fit the plates. The pegs where the pillars would push in are about 10 cm across. Anyone have any idea what I can use for pillars?? I am BUMMED icon_cry.gif !!

Oh yeah, it is a small set. The tiers are 5", 6 1/2" & 8". It says it will only take one cake mix for the whole set but I was planning on doing two layers.

try straws or small dowels. Without digging out my set i don't know which one will fit. But i'm even thinking that the cookie stick sticks might work. Just use your imagination and look around i bet you have something that will work.

chopsticks! although i don't have the tier set...the round kinds that come with chinese takeout will probably work. you could cover them in fondant or even bc. good luck with your cake!

Thanks for the replies. I found a 3/16 wooden dowel at Michael for 29 cents. It is 36" long so I could probably get 8 dowels out of it. It fits great. I wonder if I could find some food safe paint so I could paint it white or some other color.

I don't think I'd use paint of any kind, but maybe you could cover it in royal icing and let it dry hard.

I know I want them white but can't figure out how to get them that way without worring about them being toxic. I wish the Wilton Color Mist spary came in white.
