Hi, I have a cake the style of a mayan site to make As in the attachment. Any suggestions on how to get the falling stones? Preferable not using fondant. I was thinking maybe marshmallow or something else..appreciate any help..thanks and have a blessed day.

Try Gum Paste. Why do you not want to use Fondant?

I'd make divinity.

color it at point of cooking the sugar

instead of dollops -- spread in thin sheet

while warm and soft, score into brick shapes

when cooled -- snap (cut) apart at scoring. (maybe crush some to get itty bitty rock pieces and rock dust)
