I think the cake is just gorgeous, very asian and exotic. My only problem, and maybe it is just me, is that I can't see eating these dark jeweled colored icings. It just doesn't seem appetzing to me. Does anyone else feel this way. Dark chocolate or buttercream in white or pastels? Great.

I do many cakes with very deep coloured icings - often with colour painted on to fondant. I have to admit, I wouldn't eat the icing and am amazed when people do! It's edible BUT you'd get a red tongue and probably have to be scraped off the ceiling at the end of the night!
