I need ideas for a grooms cake. We will have 4 dogs in our new household and I'd like to put 16 paws on the cake. Any ideas?

What if the paws were the border of the cake? You could do them in gumpaste ahead of time and either encircle a round cake. Or, on a square cake, have four paws on each side. That leaves the top of the cake for other decorations to include other aspects of his/your life.

Four sets of four pawprints (in different colors, maybe?) walking up the sides of the cake?
One of my first cakes has pawprints walking up the sides (one set), and it happened to have four prints on each tier.
