Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air, Admiral, Magic Chef, Performa by Maytag, and Crosley dishwashers are affected.
There is an electrical issue which can cause a fire.
My dishwasher is on the list, so you should check yours if you have one of those brands.
It has to do with the heating element. I bought a Bosch - which doesn't hae an element, it dries the dishes just fine with out it! (and it is an energy star rated one too) I actually save money on my water bill if I use it exclusively vs. hand washing.
Well this is certainly alarming! Thanks for the warning. Manufacturers of such products should check them thoroughly before putting them out in the market.
