I had some bulging problems with my current cake, so for the next cake I want to cover it with ganache. Do I need to crumb coat the cake layers first with bc frosting to enclose the crumbs? Or will the ganache be sufficient to entomb those buggers (crumbs). I plan on covering it with peanut butter icing for a final layer.
Oh my! Chocolate cake with choc ganache and pb icing on it sounds devine. Sorry I cannot help you with the ganache question as I have very little experience with it. I just had to drool a little at the thought of the flavor combo. Devine! Good Luck!!!
I am doing my first ganache cake this weekend too and that's a very good question. Although I am not positive, I THINK you can do just the ganache (at least I've seen Cake Boss do it!). But I'm not postitive. It will be interesting to see the responses you get!
