Just wanted to introduce myself real quick before I really get to looking around! My name is Alyssa and I live in Maine... I went to a local community college and graduated in 2005 with my associates degree in culinary arts.
Since then I have basically always been a baker/pastry chef, doing some more industrial type work to my current job at a little market where we sell anything from breakfast pastries, to cheesecakes and cakes to petit fours.
I am a self proclaimed Wedding Cake Chef on the side as well. I have done several wedding cakes, and have a few more coming up this summer. Most have been for people I know, a few through work as well.
I have been searching for a forum like this for so long and I cannot express how excited I am to have found it!!! So far everything looks amazing and full of information and help (which I need, since I've only been doing this about 4 years).
Other than that I'm married with a dog named charlie, a little 20 month old boy named Payton and a boy/girl (we don't know yet) due in September! I think thats probably more than enough info for now!

This is the best cake site ever!!! I was lucky enough to find it a few years back, and I tell ya - I have learned so much from this one site! Not to mention recipes, inspiration and lots and lots of laughs!!! And, it doesn't matter what your experience level is - everyone is willing to give advice or has an answer to any question, no matter what it might be! It's definitely addicting!
