I need to make 2 Lacrosse sticks to come out of the top of a cake. So I was thinking of wrapping fondant on dowels and then some how attaching the net to the top.

I am guessing to use a fondant with cmc in it to make the net part I just don't know what to mould the net over and ideas. Or if I am going in the totally wrong direction please redirect me.

Sugarveil would be great for this. Or, find the thread about flexible royal icing. It's currently active, so you should be able to find it easily.

I would make the sticks out of gumpaste, they would be sturdier. No idea how to go about a net other than sugarveil

Pinksugar, here's the "Veil technique" link to making a net out of SugarVeil: http://www.sugarveil.com/confectionery_icing/comb_techniques.htm
