I want to make a grooms cake for a friend, they are getting married on the beach and the groom loves to surf and scuba.

I've been looking at cakes on here for waves, and how do I make a wave, that acutally comes up out of the cake.

I am a newbie, I have until Nov to practice.

i have seen some pretty cool wave cakes, even recently! if you find one of here that you like, i'd try PMing the original creator to see if they will share tips or techniques. i have had great luck with that and learned SO much from the other decorators!

I haven't done one yet, but I would think that making the curvy triangular peak of the wave out of RKT and then placing it one the cake where it needs to be. Then icing it right into the cake to look like its part of it. Look around CC, I'm sure you'll find something. The cakes here are so inspirational.
