Has anyone ever made a 3D Elmo out of the Wilton Mini Stand-up Bear Pan? I have a client wanting one for her son's birthday. I told her at first, it would need to be RKT, but she really wants cake. Any ideas?

I have made a small Elmo using the mini ball pan. Use two halves for the head to make the ball shape. Then two more for the body. Use a long skewer or popsicle stick down the center to support it. Then I just piped on the arms and legs with a large round tip in buttercream. And then added the fur over the whole thing using the grass tip. ( #233)

Take a look in my gallery and there are several small Elmo's sitting on cakes.

Hope that helps!

Yes, I have made a few 3D Elmo cakes using the Wilton mini-bear pan. I carve the head slightly to eliminate the ears and then make it more football shaped (vs. round). I use the grass tip and pipe red butter cream all over. I then make fondant eyes, nose and mouth. You can look at one of my pictures on my profile. Good luck!
