Storing Fondant. Freezer Bags A Good Option?

Hello,
Just wondering how you store your fondant to keep it fresh? I use Ziploc storage bags, but the fondant still gets hard. I have to microwave it but sometimes it doesn't soften out. I happen to put some in a freezer bag & it totally stayed soft!

I use the zip lock freezer baggies for everything. I don't even buy the regular baggies. They're not thick enough to suit me.

Yes I do store my fondant in them as well.

I use my Foodsaver and vacum seal it. Stays fresh forever icon_smile.gif

I apply a light coating of shortening on my fondant first. Then I wrap it in saran wrap and place it in a ziploc bag. I squeeze the air out before sealing it.

interesting thread.

I usually wrap mine in saran wrap and then press and seal BUT just got out my food saver to use after I open my latest 5 pound bucket of Satin Ice. Hope it works better.
