Hello everyone!
I am making a (small) wedding cake and I want to drape fondant/gumpaste from the top layer to the bottom and the bottom layer to the cake board. I have done this in the past but my problem is alwaythat the cake starts to tilt. Am I using to thick of fondant? I wish I could put the drapes on fondant but the bride wants BC frosting. Also, what is the best way to adhere? Piping gel? Any suggestions will be appreciated!
Lizzie
Your cake starts to tilt? Wow! Perhaps your fondant is too thick. If you add a little tylose powder to your fondant, you can roll it thinner without worrying about it tearing.
To adhere, I like to use gum glue or melted chocolate. Sometimes I insert dress pins to hold until the glue sets.
