I will be in Lousiville this weekend and was wondering if there are any really good bakeries or cake shop that I should visit. I will be staying in the downtown area, anyone got any suggestions?

Cake shops for purchasing supplies? MK Bryants, but it's not really all that large.
Cake shops to purchase from? Nah. icon_smile.gif I'm preorder only.

Where are you staying? You should definitely have dinner at the Mayan Cafe.

I'm staying at the Fairfield Inn By Marriott. Any other suggestions of good places to eat?

I would second MK Bryants. It isn't very big but they still have a good variety of supplies. I live about an hour and a half away and like to go out there every few months just to replenish my stuff.

Haven't been there yet, but there are a few cupcake bakeries I've been wanting to try...

Gigi's Cupcakes
1977 South Hurstbourne Pkwy, Louisville KY 40220

The Cupcake Shoppe
3701 Lexington Road, # 5

Also any of the Homemade Pie & Ice Cream Kitchens are good for desserts icon_smile.gif

Ooh and Gelato Gilberto is amazing gelato! It's inside a really cute neighborhood 9434 Norton Commons Bvld. There's also some nice restaurants there.
