I am new to this forum but I am hosting a redneck themed party this weekend at my house and I want to make a beer can cake. Any suggestions on how to go about this? I was going to make a sheet cake and try to trim the edges a bit but wasn't sure how to go about this. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Thanks!! Sandi

Why not just stack rounds until you get the height you need and place a label on it. The hardest thing would be the label.

Depending on your abilities, maybe a ice tub with beers in it.

For a 2D cake, chill your sheet cake, trim with a sharp knife to get your shape, then ice.
For the 3D, do as the PP said and for either one you could get an edible image made for the label.

You could do some variation of a sheet cake with a half round beer can if you're not comfortable with stacking or carving. Cutting round layers and placing them together to form half a beer can shouldn't be too hard. Hopefully I'm explaining this clearly. It makes perfect sense in my mind, but I'm not sure my vision will come across in this post.
