I've made my own black fondant using chocolate fondant. I've never had any luck making black otherwise.

Tina, I can't get americolor gels without ordering online. I just assumed that was the op's problem since she said she wasn't getting her order in time. 
After reading her post again she's probably refering to black fondant and that not being here on time.
