Creating This Ribbon

I am doing a wedding cake and the bride and groom would like it to look like this pic. I wondered what would be the best way to replicate this ribbon? I can't tell from the photo if it is buttercream or fondant or a real ribbon. Any help would be apprecitated. Thanks icon_razz.gif

Looks as if it is real ribbon to me.
but it could be made out of fondant or gumpaste, it just would be harder to handle cause of it being so thin.

So could anyone give me some pointers on how to use real ribbon without getting icing all over it.
