Hi Guys,
I have a customer that wants a pair of flip flops. How much would you charge to do them in fondant? How about buttercream? She wants quotes for both...
thanks
how much do you charge for regular cakes? you need a solid pricing structure, it makes it easier to deal with different requests.
just add on a bit extra for the carving, $5 per serving for a carved cake is a general minimum but you need to charge for carved cakes based one your area, your costs, your wage (and take into account the wasted cake from carving too) etc etc etc.

I made some last week and charged $45 ($5/serving). She wanted 8-10 servings. It's in my photos

I consider flip flops to be a 2-dimensional carved cake....or a carved sheet cake.
With that said, I charge $2.00/serv. for 2-d cakes, $2.50/serv. covered in fondant. So if I were to do a pair of them at 10 serving for each flip flop, they would cost $50 for the pair.

To give you an idea of my pricing I charge
$1.00/serv. for regular round/square 4" high cakes
$2.25/serv. for tiered cakes (w/ bc only)
$3.00/serv. for carved 3-d cakes (w/ bc only)
$.50/serv. to add fondant
$.25/serv. to add fondant accent (when less than 1/2 cake has fondant..ie; polka dots, etc.)
