Here is a posting on Facebook for Cupcake Camp in Ft. Myers, FL.

Description: Cupcake Camp is an ad-hoc gathering for cupcake lovers! Attendees can register to bring cupcakes (they can bake them themselves or purchase them from area cupcakeries) or just come and eat cupcakes! There will be timed intervals where cupcakes of different flavors will be brought out to the crowd.

Please RSVP and state whether or not you will be donating cupcakes or if you are just there to chow down!

Cupcake Camp is a FREE event open to those over the age of 21.

We have two competition levels. One is for amateur bakers and the other for professionals. The amateur contest consists of three competition genres: Best Vegan, Best Decorated and Most Creative Flavor. The professional level is more of a cupcake war and each cupcake will be scored according to this point system:

▪ Moistness of cake (15)
▪ Flavor of cake (15)
▪ Flavor of frosting (15)
▪ Originality of flavor (15)
▪ Sweetness of frosting (10)
▪ Overall attractiveness of cupcake (10)
▪ Ease of eating (5)
▪ Proportion of frosting to cake (5)
▪ Discretionary points (including special toppings or fillings) (10)

The professional level will be judged by area "celebrities" and residents. We are suggesting a minimum donation of a dozen cupcakes per type, though there is no limit on the amount of cupcakes you can bring to the event! Right now, donations from our hobbyist professional bakers is averaging at six dozen.

The event is FREE and 21+. We will be accepting donations for two charities: Butterflies of Hope in honor of Rylee Andersen and The Childrens Brain Tumor Foundation in honor of Mikey Weinstein.

Rylee Andersen, just short of three years old, passed away in January 2010 after struggling with mitochondrial disease for all of her short life. Butterflies of Hope was created by Rylees mother to spread awareness about mito and to provide aid to local families struggling with the disease.

Mikey Weinstein, three, is currently fighting an unclassifiable cancerous spinal tumor at Sloan-Kettering in NYC. The mission statement for CBTF can be found on their website.
