Just curious if anyone has used Earlene's "butavan" filling? She seems to use it in cake recipes, as filler and in buttercream icing recipes.
I'm in the market to find new ideas for filling torted cakes.
Thanks!

Butavan is an emulsion added to cakes and fillings the same way you would add vanilla. It has a nice butter/vanilla flavor which is not overpowering. HTH

FYI the company that made butavan has gone out of business. Earlene is now selling a replacement that is actually very good. you use in in conjunction with or in place of a vanilla or butter.

It is a flavoring not a filling.
