What ratio of petal dust to alcohol does everyone use for painting on fondant and gumpaste (especially when using the metalics)? Thanks.

I mix a paintbrush full dabbed into the dust and drop into the cover of the dust. Then I pour from the alcohol into the cap of the alcohol bottle and pour a little at a time until I get to the thickness/thinness I'm looking for.

Didn't realize you could mix petal with alcohol, Duh!!

Put just enough liquid to make a thin paste. Thicker is better.

Thanks everyone! I think I was just making mine too thin and adding the color to the alcohol, instead of the other way around. In the words of MissRobin...duh! ha ha

Make sure the alcohol you use is edible. I use vodka.

I was doing that at first too, lol!! I had to paint like 10 coats. Much easier to just make it thicker.
