I mix a paintbrush full dabbed into the dust and drop into the cover of the dust. Then I pour from the alcohol into the cap of the alcohol bottle and pour a little at a time until I get to the thickness/thinness I'm looking for.

I was doing that at first too, lol!! I had to paint like 10 coats. Much easier to just make it thicker.
