Chocolate Mmf....can It Be Saved Or Should I Start Over?
Baking By Thanksharla Updated 24 Apr 2010 , 4:15am by Thanksharla
I made chocolate MMF earlier this week for a cake that needs to be finished tomorrow evening. Here is the recipe I used:
16 oz mini marshmallows
7-7.5 cups sifted powdered sugar ( a full 2 lb bag is about 8 cups)
4 TBSP water
3/4 cup cocoa powder
shortening to grease your bowls, works surface etc.
And I didn't even add the full 7 cups because the MMf started getting dry in the bowl. Now when I try to roll it out it is soooo dry and crumbly. I keep adding shortening to it as I knead it but it's not helping.
Can this be saved or to I need to start over?? Is there a different recipe I should use?
Thanks!
16 ounce package Marshmallows
2 Tbsp Water
2 ounces melted baking chocolate
8 cups powdered sugar
2 Tbsp cocoa powder
Up to 1/2 cup crisco shortening
Melt marshmallows with water, add melted chocolate and begin kneading in powdered sugar and cocoa.
This recipe has a light chocolate flavor that is always a big hit.

Shoot, I don't have any baking chocolate and no way to get to the store.
